Make Yourself The Gift

It’s easy to get distracted over the course of the day. Meditation gives us a quick and easy way to be more present in the moment; and when you’re present in the moment? You’re the gift!

In order to be more present throughout the day, set three alarms – think of them as “mindfulness bells” – to go off throughout the day. Whenever one of the alarms sounds, ask yourself the following questions:

  • Where am I right now?
  • What am I doing right now?
  • What’s the best thing I could do for someone right now?

Over the following few minutes, try your best to keep your attention where you are and on what you’re doing. Don’t worry if your attention slips – you can bring it back whenever you notice or wait for the next alarm!

IMPORTANT TIP:  Make sure your alarms won’t go off during class!
